Rabbi Rebecca Benoff
Rabbi Rebecca Benoff, Assistant Rabbi at Sinai, shares rabbinic duties with Interim Rabbi, Michael Weinberg and Associate Rabbi, Amanda Greene.
Rabbi Benoff has a deep passion for helping people of all ages feel included. Every person with whom she interacts, she hopes to inspire their Jewish journey to be one of community and belonging. Bringing people closer to their Jewish identities and creating a sense of belonging are what drive every aspect of her Rabbinate.
Rabbi Benoff has served in a wide variety of roles, as a student rabbi, educator, a spiritual director of a Jewish camp, and chaplain. She is proud to officiate at interfaith weddings and weddings for people who identify as LGBTQIA.
Rabbi Benoff grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia as a member of a Reform community. She was an active member of her temple and regional youth group. She attended The George Washington University in Washington, DC where she studied Psychology and Judaic Studies.
In May of 2023, Rabbi Benoff became ordained on the Cincinnati campus of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. She earned a Master’s in Education Administration from Xavier University, a close partner of HUC-JIR, and brings that knowledge and experience to our Sinai Community.
Poetry is a personal passion of Rabbi Benoff’s that she is happy to utilize for liturgical and educational purposes. In her spare time, Rabbi Benoff loves hiking, traveling and cooking.
